Inspection requirements by contractual agreement between stations and the ministry
All directives to each station will become more standardized through new contractual agreements between each station and the ministry of transport. Directives to each station will improve the level of service and ensure a uniform level of inspection throughout the province.
A valid PMCVI inspection will be required for plate renewals
In order to receive a plate renewal in the province, you will need to receive a valid PMCVI inspection. Your Commercial motor vehicle plate renewal cannot be processed unless you are able to produce the inspection report.
Emission inspections will be added
Annual safety and emission inspections will be added to diesel CMVs. All private owners and fleet owners will be responsible for keeping vehicles in good working order and producing safe emissions. Annual inspections for heavy diesel vehicles will ensure safer motorways and less carbon emissions from heavy vehicles across the province.
Digital records
Aspects of the new program will be transparent and done in a digital format ensuring that vehicle photos and inspection results become more available for fleet owners and the public. Digital licencing transactions and on-road enforcement can grow easier through the transparency of digital records. Paper based inspection certificates are no longer required and digital certificate numbers will now be issued using pre-authorized debit charges.
